We are looking at 10 5 x 7 watercolors of something architectural on Monday. Is this different than the skyscapes? More structure required - different emphasis on the four states of watercolor. Also, did you get the two 8 x 10s printed and mounted? Those too are due tomorrow.
We will be looking at your 10 watercolor 5 x 7 skyscapes. Go outside - look off to the horizon. If you do clouds, make them look like clouds, not frigg'n puffy cotton balls. I really would like to see ten really impressive watercolors which means maybe you will have to do more to get to ten good ones. Practice the various watercolor states. The more you do, the better you get. Also, bring your watercolor supplies to work in class on Friday. See you then. Watercolor till you puke. Did I mention practice?
So for next Monday (plenty of time, almost leisurely amount of time), you will have 2 inkjet printouts of your 8 x 10 kick-butt line art illustrations (printed on an 8.5 x 11 paper). Mount on black foam core - 1 inch border. Didn't mention this in class. Who is reading my blog?
For Wednesday... you are working on final versions of a line art illustrations. One from observation and one from a photographic reference. Final size is 8 x 10 inch. Pick the best one of the first 10 sketches and one of the second 10 or the third 5. Confused? Anyway, spend 3 hours on each be inkjet printed on 8.5 x 11. Scanning resolution for inkjet printing should be 150 ppi. Make them kick-butt. Go for the WOW factor - impress me! I cherry pic the best ones to post on this blog.
OK. This time it is 5 line art illustrations with the twist of drawing them in Photoshop using the graphics tablet (if you can find one that works). Only 5 this time to account for the small software learning curve. Make them look good. Size 5 x 7 inch and print out to the laser printer for Friday. Get your blogs created and email me your blog link. Start blogging about what you have been doing in class and scan and post some of your work. Give me something good to read. I like to be entertained.
