Permission

By enrolling in this Truman State University Art Department course, permission is granted by the student, to the university to use any artwork, designs or illustrations, as demonstrative samples of student work for the stated course, in university publications, websites or multimedia promotions.

The fun has begun - first assignment - MAE program promotion

So, we talked about the first assignment in class today. This is a promotional layout for the Truman State University MAE program. Target audience is existing Truman students - on-campus. Most likely students still deciding what they want to do with their lives.The MAE program is recruiting from the existing student body to increase participation in the MAE. That is the reason this little poster exists.

Assignment specs:

3 - 8.5 x 11 in, one-color, black/one side layouts - one type only, two using provided images on my public folder

1 - 680 x 256 px, RGB, Truman Website Banner ad - promotional for the Information session

Copy, images and logo provided - connect to my public folder and grab the info.

Your layouts should communicate the dominant concept, should have a strong structure, hierarchy and design flow. The web banner should focus on the information session. Time the banner rotation on the website and that is the amount of time you have to impart the information to the reader. You do have color available for the web banner.

Budget:

4 hours: four layouts - TRACK YOUR TIME - TURN IN TIME SHEET ON WEDS.

The print layouts must be assembled in InDesign. You can use Photoshop for the web banner.

Let's see what you can do. I'll bring my red pen. Have fun.

Sorry, late addition to the post: have the four layouts laser printed (b/w laser) to review at the start of class. Also, have the web banner saved as a.jpg and drag and drop into a browser window to look at on screen in color.
