i'm so jealous of your sweet skills. i can't read the business card things, but i really like the idea of business cards scattered over a desk and then the quotes of the pros actually describing how the student aiga works. niiice. sorry, i have no criticism...

My only criticism is that some of the business cards are not clickable so it makes people hunt around for what they should click on, which may or may not be a bad thing.

I really like the layout. I wish some of the pictures were brighter, but they look fine when they're rolled over.

I enjoy the unconventional layout, pretty sweet. It definitely stands out from other sites. Even though I like the quotes, I am kind of confused on their purpose. I think it's a hierarchy thing for me, because they look as important as the "student resources" and "about our chapter" links, but the information seems secondary. Maybe by making the cards with the quotes on them smaller the hierarchy would be a little clearer.

the only thing i would say is that it feels crowded. when you click a card and more pop out that you're supposed to read, there's a lot of text on the page and it's a bit overwhelming. what if when the new ones pop out, all the other cards are screened back a lot, or blurred so that your eyes know to focus on the one that just appeared.

Nice job. Maybe a bit crowded but other than that I really have no criticisms.

you have to kind of be picky-choosy wiht the business cards because im having a hard time trying to find the ones that click automatically... i have to hunt as Alison said.. Also, i cant really read all of the business cards to well.. i think that is mainly because theere is so much going on in the peice... the cards layer over each other nicely but it is that layering that really kinda bothers my eye... i try to read all the cards at once rather than individually... maybe thats just me... lol.. but i hink what would help with that is making the business cards all look different from one another... they all look pretty alike and if you cahnged them up some they wuld draw teh eye more on the individual basis...
good ideas though ashley... you are very talented at this stuff! :)

It is amazing. I agree that there needs to be a hierarchy and the suggestion of dulling the background of what is not being read would be fabulous. My first impression is that it is a bit cluttered and there is no negative space. The designer quotes could be located somewhere else I think, to clear off a little area. Love your colors and textures and font sensibility though. great job ash, seriously.

I don't know how to critique this... It's very professional and smooth, I think. However, personally, I would be confused as to which cards actually brought up info, and I would forget which ones I already visited, is there a way to change the appearance of a card once you've read the info and put it back maybe? Oh, and there is one card that disappears when I click on it, in the top left-hand corner-ish, with a bunch of text on it.

It strikes me that maybe the changing appearances thing was a bad idea now, never mind. I think though, that it would benefit from a stronger hierarchy and sense of direction.

Ashley, I love the clean design and the interactivity of the piece. Clicking around, I noticed that it already links to the beginnings of the blog and I like how you tied the two together thematically.
My only criticism is that I wish the cards have transparency only when they are moving and that they retain full opacity when motion stops. This way, each layering would make logical sense and cards would not be divided in places that cards normally could not pass through. (When the About the Chapter Card is showing and the Paul Rand card is clicked on, the Paul Rand card remains somewhat transparent. When the Student Resources is showing and the Hillman Curtis card is clicked on, the Hillman Curtis card remains somewhat transparent.)

im glad you made more of them click-able, and kept the background. its awkward going from the card with the paintings on it (too small to read here) to the student resource one, and you cant go from the student resource one to the card with the paintings on it.
