Student American Advertising Awards 2014 - Submission Guideline

The AAF Student American Advertising Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed specially for college students. Work entered at your local level can move up to the regional and national judging, just like the work entered by professionals across the country. http://www.aaf.org/default.asp?id=72

Applicants must be enrolled full - or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.

Submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry). National winning entries may receive the following:

• Finalist certificate—great for résumés and portfolios
• Prestigious Student American Advertising Award for first-place winners
• $1,000 cash prize for National Best of Show winner

The entire show will be presented in full color in ILLUSTRATORS 55, “America’s Original Annual of Illustration.”   Works selected will be on display at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators from January 4 - March 2, 2013.  A selection of 40 works will tour US colleges through June 2014, the 32nd educational traveling exhibition.

Accepting entries through October 26th, 2012

Entry Fees:
$30 per entry for non-members of the Society of Illustrators.
$20 for members of the Society of Illustrators entering their own illustrations.
$35 per entry for non-members of the Society of Illustrators entering Sequential or Series.
$30 for members of the Society of Illustrators entering their own Sequential or Series Work.

Eligibility

• Projects that have been published, produced or implemented in the past two years are eligible. School projects and concept designs are not eligible since they cannot be described in terms of impacts.
• Project categories are Branding, Entertainment, Experience design, Information design, Organizational design, Packaging, Promotion and Service design.
• Projects may be of objects, messages, campaigns, spaces, experiences or services.
• Entries from all countries are eligible; foreign-language entries must include a translation in English.

Submit Art to the Regional Holiday Exhibition at Il Spazio's

Dear Artists,
 
I would like to invite you to submit any new art pieces you may have completed, as the Kirksville Arts Association begins preparations for the annual Regional Holiday Exhibition at Il Spazio’s Restaurant where work will be on display from the end of November  through January.
 
The holidays bring many local and out-of-town guests to the Restaurant and Pub providing excellent exposure for community artists.  If you are interested in displaying and/or selling pieces, we would like to receive them during the week of November 16.  Pieces can be delivered to the Arts Center during regular office hours, Monday and Tuesday 9:00am - 12:00pm and Wednesday and Thursday 9:00am - ll:00am.  Arrangements can be made for drop off at a different time or pick up by calling 665-1905 or e-mailing me at [email protected].  The Association’s policy of commission on sales is 20% for members and 30% for non members.

Art Directors Club: Young Guns 7 Competition

Here is yet another competition for you to enter your work in and get nationally recognized for your work. The Art Directors Club has extended the deadline for their Young Guns 7 competition until May 22nd! So hurry, get your best work together and submit for your chance at fame!

Print’s Magazines Student Cover Competition

The winning entries will be published in the April 2010 issue of Print. Designers should pick a global problem and create a cover design that shows how design might solve that problem, such as sustainability, human rights, or the future of food.

The designer should also include a headline, a subhead, and three proposed cover lines for possible stories supporting their theme in their design. The covers will be judged on both the strength of the concept and the execution. Have fun!
